Sometimes people do big things to fulfill just a simple dream
At times we use all strength when all it takes is gentle touch
We go around the world just to find peace
And conquer challenges to feel like a winner
In the end, we learn only when we hit a hard wall
To let go…
And find the simplicity of meaning
Just planned the most impulsive thought I had for getaway. I think I was just fed up of meaningless busy routines at work and I need to find an inspiration, slightly away from my surroundings.
The irresistible urge made me messaged some people (Hail Facebook!) and simply throwing the idea of visiting them for a weekend. I believe God wants me to take a break as well, for in few minutes some of them replied cheerfully. Within half an hour my rough itinerary was planned, just need a place to stay over.
I think over the years some of my good friends teach me to be spontaneous and I never regret that. It’s the best lesson to embrace the will of heart and be free spirited.
I am excited to meet good hearted jolly people within 2.5 weeks, eat good food and of course learn about life. Gonna travel nicely as what I always do when I travel alone. It’s a good thing that I can afford paying extra for more comfort, anyway a girl needs to pamper herself sometimes.
Work target is demanding and just learned that my senior who mentored me on my 1st year is leaving the company. Not working with him anymore, but I always appreciate the way he patiently mentor the younger ones and always ready to help even though I’m asking help for a project he’s not involved. I do have problem losing even little things in life, I guess.
Right now my mental vision is either gulping/munching a lot of chocolate or sleeping. But I will just survive the weekend and do the best.
Mark 2:1-5 (NIV)
A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:12 (NIV)
He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
Question : On behalf of whose faith did the healing happened?
Is it the paralytic who cheered his friends and begged them to find any way to get in Jesus’s house?
Is it the friends who wouldn’t give up though the sick himself already let go his chance when he saw the crowd?
Either one or both, they had faith that Jesus could heal. It worthed cracking their brains to get in, getting ropes, pushing the crowd, climbing up, pulling a heavy mat with a guy laying on it, breaking the roof without thinking too much if Jesus would be angry about the hole in the roof, and the quickness not to waste time.
Either being the lame or the friends, it worth to try the best in search for healing. If only 1 guy refused to join the plan, it might not happen.
I aim to be a good friend who won’t complain or being faithless to do the crazy plan. I aim to have faith and cheer my friends though I am paralyzed with something for years or my whole life, so they fight a great fight together with me.
Faith is not a work of one, it’s a work of many good friends who are willing to have fun and suffer together.
When you are feeling blue for the simplest things, make a decision to feel happy for the simplest things too.
I’m just trying to count my joy from the simple things. Today a colleague who just came back from his hometown put a souvenir while I was taking nap, the little gesture was a nice surprise when I woke up. Giving out year end gift to the staff was also fun coz they were all happy and said that the item was nice. It’s a nice last job to close my role in the committee. I believe they will also know that we really put company’s money for their good.
Looking forward for tonight’s dinner with 3 great ladies in a cozy restaurant that serves nothing but yummy-ness.
Being grateful in low times is not that hard.
A fresh wound may be God’s way of reminding me about the old ones that never healed. All the pain for years popped up in memory and surrounding the present.
Anyway the key to move on to the future is not to cover and run. It’s always to deal with the past and get healed. No one will ask a car accident victim to start walking as soon as he gain consciousness. It takes time to heal and it’s really a norm.
Healing hurts and running away is easier. But never let tears be wasted.
